Cloudward

In contrast to the dim and dreary Underdark, Cloudward is the bright world existing above the clouds, mostly ruled over by the wise and majestic cloud giants and the noble bloud dragons, the two ruling powers having a long standing truce that would shock other giant and dragon kind.

The sprawling floating islands of Cloudward include wilder areas as well as the gigantic castles of the cloud giants and the crystal-like structures the cloud dragons dwell in.

Strange and dangerous creatures dwell along cloudward from the more docile cloud whales to the more dangerous air elementals and dire hawks, to the more intelligent and civil giant eagles.

Though the lands of Cloudward are ever floating and shifting around, some known areas have been noted by those with the magic to explore the sky lands of Cloudward.

Skyhüld

Anchor 1

The main castle of the cloud giants, Skyhüld is gargantuan

and sprawling across the entire floating island it is built on.

The head of the cloud giant ording, Queen Ingridt

Lofginnstein.

The castle is welcome enough to visitors who are

respectful and give reverence the cloud giants

deserve but it is rarely visited or explored due to

the magic or transport needed to reach the

cloud kingdoms of Cloudward.

The giants of Skyhüld keep watch on

the lands below and on the other lands

of Cloudward, watching for dangers that can

effect the balance and order of Garn, the

sky, or both.

Alliances with the nobles of the world below and

the cloud giants exists across Garn, though it is

not widely made known to the common folk at

large. These alliances, give certain protections to the

land rulers against having their lands destroyed by

more powerful forces such as dragons or other giants

while the cloud giants, themselves, gain the network

of nobles afforded them in the exchange, keeping

them aware of the happenings on the earht bound

world without havingto constantly scry it.

Kethandal

Anchor 2

Kethandal is the lair of the lord of the cloud dragons,

Aerendisaxle, and also serves as the "court" and meeting

space for the cloud dragons across the world. Not many in

number, the dragons do not meet all at once very often,

requiring something that is a true threat to Garn, itself, or

to dragonkind, itself, which the cloud giants see themselves

as the guardians of.

This gigantic crystaline structure appears solid

and impenetrable but has tiny fissures in it

to allow creatures access through mist

forms such as the cloud dragons can take innately.

Rumors of great and dangerous treasures housed

in the Lord of Clouds' horde but as of now,

none are brave or foolish enough to try to

steal from the imposing Aerendisaxle.

When the Lord of Clouds entertains guests honored enough

to meet with him, he meets them at the Azure Lake, a

large expanse of water just outside his lair with

healing waters.

An order of dragonborn on Garn serve the cloud dragons

instead of following Bahamut, forming a secret pact as most

dragonborn would consider this a kind of heresy or, at the

very least, disrespect to the metallic dragon god.

The Order of Clouds members are ev en given special

abilities it is said.
