History and Folklore

mortals lived at the whims of the Old Gods, the Primordials. Mortals had little will and no power to stand against the Primordials or their titan children.

Then, the gods came. Some say the gods stepped into our reality from another world where something worse than the Primordials had invaded them.

Seeing the world of Garn, the mortals on the world, despite how primitive they were. These newcomer gods looked upon the world of Garn and decided that they could not abide the vile and chaotic tyranny of the Primordials.

The Dawn War began.

The gods were not at their full power after the battles and the journey to reach the world of Garn and, thus, the war was rrigorous and costly, several of Astron's children giving their lives during the war and most of Rhea's

primordial children being destroyed or locked away in other realities.

The war was long a hard won by the gods but win they eventually did, breaking the primordial forces (with the help of some priordials, themselves, such as Helion whom the sun is named after, as well as mortal heroes elevated to immortal status such as the elven twins Valena and Luminos who the moons of Garn are named after.

The Dawn War ended with the detruction of Krathon and the imprisonment of Tharizdun, the most powerful of the primordials.

Before Recorded History

In 1 GHR (Garn Historical Records)

                                                                                                the Golden Age of Garn

began and the peoples of Garn began to record history on the Tablets of the

Ancients. Most of these tablets have been destroyed or lost over time with the

few remaining currently under the care of the Preservationists, a group self

appointed to safeguard historical records and relics, lest the history of the world

be lost.

During this early historical time, from what scholars and historians

can gather from the remaining Tablets, the peoples were still young

in their ways and mostly concerned with gathering, hunting, and

propegating their species. The Dawn War and the known gods were

recorded in the Tablets and the knowledge the peoples of modern

Garn have of the gods is widely based on the Tablets

of the Ancients.

Records of ancient creatures such as

dinosaurs and other now extinct creatures

hold som records in the Tablets, though

most of the records from these ancient

times are concerned with running from or hunting the creatures.

Aside from ancient fauna and flora that have faded with time, so to are there ancient peoples no longer around, such as tribes of humans, the blood elves, the gortok who may have been related to orcs, the cave giants, and others that may have never been recorded.

During this time, despite the dangers to ancient peoples, prosperity was good and the world was plentiful with food and resurces, ancient cities were dedicated to the gods and ancient spirits.

Anchor 2

saw the Blood Age ushered in with the first historically

recorded war, the Orcish-Elven War which threw the two peoples into a long

standing hatred but, beyond Garn, threw Corellon and Gruumsh against one

another in eternal conflict as well.

The first war took the lives of many elves and orcs and spread to effect other

peoples as dwarves entered the fray on the side of the elves and some

ancient tribes of humans on the side of the orcs.

In the end, the wr was called due to the losses on both sides with no decisive

winner, the orcs retreating into jungles and dark caverns, the elves and

dwarves retreating to their ancient cities to recover.

The Blood Age continued to rage, however, the firt wr igniting other

skirmishes between ancient humans and goblins, between the gnomes, who

were new to Garn from the Feywilds, and the trolls who thought they were

small and easy to eat, aided by the normally peaceful halflings in driving back

the trolls.

The goliaths fought the giants, across the world, leaving the giants weakened

for the dragons to rise and sweep across the world, nearly taking it over,

causing, finally, all peoples to stand with the giants to defeat the dragons, leaving much of the world in a bloody aftermath but also splintering the dragons and scattering them across Garn.

At the end of the orcish war, the humans and elves signed an accord, the elves taking the Land of Elves (known in modern times as Raenatha) and the humans taking thr Lands of Man (known in modern times as Auroria).

The world breathed a sigh of not so much relief but resignation for the work ahead of all peoples to rebuild and, in a way, to start over.

10 GHR

arrived, so did the Age of Kings.

King Granor of the Land of Men answered the call of aid by the elven King

Thanian to rid the Land of Elves of the vile threat of goblins led by the vicious

hobgoblin Karuuk. With heroism within the elven and human ranks alike,

the hobgoblins were puhed back.

In the Land of Men, a Declaration of Unity was signed between the humans

of the Land of Men and the dwarves of the Stonehammer Kingdom under

King Gwoin Eyodirson.

Later, the halfling collective and gnomes of the forest and mountain joined

this Declaration, along with the Land of Elves, uniting all the peoples of the

West aside from the so-called monstrous species.

Come 42 GHR, King Granor II was crowned King of the Land of Men. Holding

to the Declaration of Unity signed by his father, the King ushered in an age

of cooperation amon the peoples of the Western World.

Duing this time, the orcs goblins, giants, and other "monstrous" peoples were

considerably quiet, keeping to their own affairs and in-fighting from some

accounts, leaving the world in a time of peace.

During this time, the first and longest lasting kingdom of the dragonborn,

Karnash is built in the Land of Elves with the support of King Thanian of the elves under the advisement of the silver dragon Eulyssia the Pure and Drakkenkhan (King) Silvaak Grayfrill became the first ruler of the dragonborn.

Brief disruption occurred in the Land of Elves as the Quinbrekk long left out of the canopies of elves and the Eranmeet were on the verge of civil war. The Windsharran elves reasoned with the Erandar to include the Quinbrekk and King Thanian accepts, also renaming the Land of Elves, Raenatha, the elven word for Splendor.

In 50 GHR, the land known as Gillius was explored but considered too savage

to be settled at the time, the land rife with goblin and kobold activity among

other natural and unnatural dangers. King Granor II had the Dread Gate

built in Gillius to keep watch on the "monsters" of this land and to hold a

minor port on the continent.

The Dread Gate quickly became the least favored post for a soldier in the

King;s Army and, eventually, the King wrote an edict to demand that all the

armed forces serve at least one cycle at the Gate to make it seem less of a

punishment or "cursed" assignment.

Nonetheless, many soldiers lost their lives at the gate and, inevitably, with

or without the King's knowledge, it was said that less liked soldiers or

soldiers that had done something "wrong" were posted at the Dread Gate

giving it a reputation of not only being the worse post a soldier can stand at

but also the post made of the least diserables in the Army.

In 56 GHR, the Captain of the Watch at the Dread Gate, Eleric Wintermantle

saved a host of soldiers in a quick thinking tactical step against the hill giant

Bludgutt and his army of various goblin creatures which fell on the Dread

Gate unexpetedly. Eleric was given high accomodations and offered a much

less dangerous post but, surprisingly to all, refused the new post, saying that he considered the men at the Gate

to be family and would not abandon them.

This earned Eleric the respect of his men and made the Dread Gate the place for soldiers wanting to prove their metal and bravery more than those who were outcasts.

In 105 GHR

the Dragonborn drakkenkhan Skalhut Silvertail raised the

first dragonborn kingdom of Kamash which would stand as the oldest of the

dragonborn empires throughout history, despite having turbulent history

and literally being abandoned for almost a century after the war with

Tiamat.

Kamash was built in Eastern Raenatha and the dragonborn and elves

became quick allies and comrades throughout the history of the dragonborn

kingdom.

During this time, the dwarves also came to the shores of Raenatha and

began mining and building in the mountain that would become known as

Urtholme, creating a dwarven empire within the mountains.

Though the elves watched this progress closely and some few skirmishes

erupted, the coming of the dwarves to the elven lands was mostly peaceful

as the elves realized the dwarves were expert miners and would trade some

of the ore they discovered and gems that the elves used to power magical

objects and artifacts.

In turn the elves shared wines and expotic foods that the dwarves enjoyed,'

as well as smithing some light weight weapons and bows for those among

the dwarves who favored such weapons.

, a flight of chromatic dragons led by the great red wyrm,

Horokorthax, fell on Queensland, burning the countryside and its villages

and towns, spreading destruction everywhere, making their way to the

Manse Royal, the castle of the Queen destroying everything and raising the

castle, killing Queen Estelle Chanseun, the fourth in line of succession.

The remaining peoples of Queensland fled to Raenatha and the protection

of the elves magics.

The elves, dwarves, and dragonborn of Raenatha united with the peoples

of Queensland to take back their land and set about defeating the flight of

dragons and to put an end to Horokorthax's terror. In the end, it was a

devastaitng battle, requiring the forging of a weapon by the dwarves and

dragonborn, a blade called Dragonbane which was wielded by the head

cleric of Bahamut at the time, a dragonborn named Goraal Frostscale who

fell in battle before getting a chance to bring it low on the draconic leader,

himself.

The human knight, Kelia Stormheart, took up the blade and after making a

swath of death through several dragons finally stood to face Horokorthax,

himself. The two fought an intense battle that almost ended the young kmight

until the dwarf Killin Coalhand distracted the ancient dragon, costing him

his own life in the process. Kelia used the opportunity to strike at the heart of the great wyrm and end his tyranny once and for all.

In recognition of her bravery and efforts, Kelia Stormheart was crowned the next Queen of Queensland where she reigned peacefully for the rest of her days which were not terribly long after the injuries and burns she sustained from her fight with the dragon. Her sister Shanlee Stormheart succeeded her, becoming the next queen of the West though many say her rule was not nearly as fair or peaceful as her sister's.

arrived, the last king of the Land of Men, King Granor IV

passed and his wife and Queen, Amelia Chanseun became the Queen of the

Land. Within a few years, as of 228 GHR, the Queen renamed the Land of

Men to Queensland which would remane its name for centuries to come.

During her reign, Queen Chanseun expanded the reach of the hold known

as the Dread Gate in Gillius, supplying more soldiers to the Gate and renaming

it to Brightstone Keep. The walled keep also surrounded and protected the

first colony of Gillius.

The Queen also sent the first explorers to the "Unknown Lands" which

would eventually be named Sarvania. The few survivors of the Expedition to

the Unknown reported very dangerous conditions and creatures on the

mysterious continent, naming it uninhabitable without a lot of force being

pushed into the wild continent.

The queen was also most noted for rescuing a bronze dragon wyrmling

from a vile draconic cult, naming the dragonling Cornelius Purescale.

Cornelius would far outlive the Queen but would be a constant companion

for her entire life, overseeing Queensland and completing many heroic acts

in the name of his Queen.

Cornelius would also accompany the Queen;s daughter Elenora and would

accompany her and advise her throughout her life, before parting with the Chanseun family to pursue more "draconic interests" becoming more akin to what one expects of a dragon.

The Chanseun family would rule as queens over Queensland for generations to come.

saw the appearance of ships from the East near the Unknown

Lands, the main ship is said to have sported large, lantern like objects and

a very different design to the ships of the west or even the orc or goblin

vessels at the time.

The ships withdrew once spotting the Queen's navy and then the navy was

beseeched by what the officers described as "sea devils" which they thought

might have been summoned by the Easterners so the naval officers thought

at the time, before it was discovered that the creatures dwelled in grottos

around the Unknown Lands, themselves.

In 445 GHR, the renowned explorer Heratio Rainthorn put together a crew

and small fleet of vessels to head out towards the Far East to explore what

peoples may dwell on that side of the world.

Queen Gwendelynne Stormheart at the time proclaimed this a heroic effort

of great impornt and the Crown aided in the efforts with some of its

treasury funds and even a few soldiers to help protect the explorers.

In 468 GHR, Heratio and most of his crew as well as the soldiers of the

Crown return from the East, reporting to have reached a land known as

Nazenka where they met many interesting "desert people", reporting that

Nazenka is a desert continent which is apparently ruled by genies, which

were elemental spirits that the people of the West had never heard of.

Some unique items and treasures were gifted to the Queen who grew especially fond of somehting known as coffee.

439 GHR

Anchor 8

saw yet another hero rise in Gillius as Jarod Graymere, the

youngest commander of Brightstone Keep, rallied forces to end the major

threats of the land, defeating the Ogre King Grimgullet and his band of

hobgoblins, bugbears, and trolls, charging into these battles atop the

pegasus, Windmane.

This military action allowed the expansion of colonization in Gillius,

allowing for Gillius to become a more civilized land.

Within a few years, the young commander made plans with other nobles

and other leaders in Gillius to secede from the Crown.

During this time. a group of heroes known as the Circle of Blades defeated

a group of orcish priests attempting to open a gate to an ancient elemental

at a site known as the Temple of Elemental Evil.

Others were inspired by the heroism displayed by brave men and women

across the West, ushering in the Age of Heroes.

This age saw the defeat of several evils, such as the Tomb of Devestation,

the Bloodstone Cult of Orcus, the terror of the Wraith Queen, and several

others.

Many heroes rose and fell in this great age of heroes which promised a new

golden age before a darker period rose in history, the Seperatist War of

Gillius.

590 GHR saw the Seperatist War erupt in Gillius as Jarod Graymere declared himself the leader of the free peoples of Gillius and met the Queen's forces with decided action as they fell on the land and the colonies.

The war raged and both sides lost many, many people before the Queen and Jarod met to make peace. The land of Gillius would still be loyal to the Crown but minimum enforcement from the royalty would touch this land, allowing its people to be ruled by local council instead of directly by the leadership of Queensland as long as tithes were paid to the treasury of the Crown.

This peace agreement ushered in an age of relative freedom for the peoples of Gillius and Jarod built his and the Council's rulership in a new city called Cliffhaven in North Gillius.

525 GHR

Anchor 9

arrived, so did the Lost Isles, appearing from nowhere

just to the South of Queensland.

An exploration was sent to the Isles that reported a land of wondrous

vegetation, wild terrain, and creatures not thought to exist on Garn since

the Golden Age or before.

A second expedition was sent, better armed to protect the explorers from

the more dangerous prehistoric beasts. That is when the Isles and those

exploring it disappeared.

Not long after this tragic expedition, the Queen decided it was time to try

to tame the Unknown Lands which was named as Sarvania by scholars, the

name sticking with royalty.

This expedition met with dangers that wiped most of its members out, the

few remaining reiterating that this land was more dangerous than

anything but armies could bring under sway.

The Queen was not prepared to commit forces to the cause of exploring

and colonizing Sarvania at this time and, instead, warned against travel to

the dangerous, largely unexplored land.

A much quieter mystery not recorded until much later in the ages and

unbeknownst to most of Garn, the dwarves uncovered deeper tunnels

than they had ever discovered previously and also discovered vile monsters and even some form of civilizations deep beneath the mountains, consisting of an eviler bent of their own peoples and calling these discovered, violent folk the Duergar or gray dwarves.

arrived to find the Queen, Glenadale Goodveil II funding

and supplying a regiment of soldiers to Sarvania to explore and hopefully

colonize the land as a second expedition in a century's time.

This plan ended in disaster, most of the explorers and soldiers being

brought down with the ships they traveled on when attacked by ehat the

few survivors called the attackers "shark men" what were previously called

sea devils.

The few survivors making it to Sarvania attempted to survive long enough

to build a settlement and were close to success but were brought down by

the land, itself, and the savage monsters that dwelled there.

The exploration and colonization of Sarvania was a failure and it would be

many years before it would be attempted again by the Crown, at least.

As the failure of Queensland came to fruition, Raenatha herself, the elves

specifically, sent their own expedition to untamed Sarvania.

Taking a different route, the elves were able to avoid the shakr kin with

their approach to Sarvania but once making landfall, the elves faired little

better than the expedition from Queensland, facing monsters and dangers

they had not prepared for.

This expedition was lost and never returned home, but they were not

destroyed. Instead, the elves fled into caverns and, eventually deeper intp

the earth, into the Underdark where they survived and became a new species of elves eventually calling themselves shadow elves. Most of the survivors were part of a secret cult dedicated to the half dead goddess Hela and the shadow elves continued to worshipper thereafter, being a less savory form of their more peaceful kin and building a resentment for never being rescued from the untamed lands of Sarvania and the Underdark.

In 762 GHR the regiment and fort on Sargoth, Fort Highmyst was sacked by a horde of orcs and goblins, with a few hill giants to make the situation more dire. Forced to flee these lands, yet another land was named inhospitable by the explorers from QUeensland and its people began to hate the orcish and goblin peoples more and more through this savagery.

THe Lost Isles return, appearing once again near Southern Queensland but only being watched from far off shore as to not lose any more explorers to the strange, prehistoric place. There is no sign of previous explorers or any other life and after a number of years the Isles disappear once more.

As 719 GHR

Anchor 11

disquiet rose with the people of Queensland after years

of over taxation and little assistance from Queen Jillian Netherbrook I.

This disgruntled state rose to upheaval in 812 when the folks of Killian's

Farm were ousted by the Crown's forces when refusing to pay the full

taxation rate after an especially poor harvest season. The people of the

town,

Killina, itself, took up arms and rose against the soldiers stationed at the

mill, killing many and dricving them out of the area.

In an effort to solve the issues without further bloodshed, the

Netherbrook family tried to put Jillian's sister Runa in tghe seat of the

Queen but the people were no more satisfied with this tact and called for

the removal of not only Queen Netherbrook II but of the royal family,

altogether.

As disatisfaction with the Royal family grew and more towns sided with

Kilian, the revolution was well underway. After four years of violence and

war, the Netherbrooks were removed from their royal status and the

noble Katiana Silverthorn was made Queen by the people, ending the

revolt and returning Queensland to an era of peace for some time to

follow.

In 812 GHR

Anchor 12

arrived so did the first recorded explorers from

Nazenka. Unfortunately for these explorers, they landed at the Jagged

Teeth, the assorted islands near Sargoth. Fleeing the monstrous lands in

a sinking ship, the Nazenkan crew was rescued by a nearby ship from

Queensland, the Maiden's Fire, there by chance or fate.

The crew was taken to Queensland and met with Queen Shaesta

Silverthorn. After some questions and celebration of the rescue, the

Nazenkans were sailed back to their homeland where the crew of the

presumably same ship were rewarded with treasures and exotic spices

and foods along with a missive from the Nazenkan Shi'ar (similar to king)

with a proposal of peace and frienship.

Through a historical unpresidented union, the nations across the world

from one another became friends.

Cross world trade became normal if seldom due to the deep ocean

environment seperating the two lands bringing spice, silk, fruit, and

other exotic goods to Queensland and Nazenka discovered ales, weapons,

and even magics that it previously had never seen.

Though more and more was being learned about Nazenka and its

various peoples, the Far East still remained mostly mysterious, save

when a chance meeting between its people and Western traders would

occur in Nazenka.

As 905 GHR

Anchor 13

a pirate ship named the Wench's Nethers was captured

off the coast of Queensland. The crew was half dead and their "captain"

called himself Leemond Tharjarian of the Queen's Blade, demanding to be

Brought before the Queen. Queen Nevierre Silverthorn had her interest

piqued by the strange incident, especially with the report from her

Captain of the Guard that the man looked very earnest and seemed to

sincerely have dire information for the Crown.

During her interview with Sir Leemond, the Queen discovered that he

was part of a secret organization among the knights that performed

espionage and shadow scouting for the Crown.

He brought before the Queen and her advisors a bloody sack from which

he emptied the severed and acid cauterized head of a troll witch whom he

named Threzzgristle explaining that she was performing magics

empowered by and for the purposes of the elder evil primordials which

no one present needed to be educated on the implications of.

If there was a group of like minded creatures to this troll witch trying to

revive the primordials then these were, indeed, dark times for not only

the Crown and her subjects but the entire world of Garn, itself.

When asked how he had come upon this foul plot, Sir Leemond informed

the court at large that he had been directed by Astron, himself, to root out

this evil and vanquish it.

The Queen and her court smiled at one another with some skepticism thinking they might just be dealing with a religious zealot though defeating the troll witch and her plot was a good thing no matter how it had come to happen.

Seeing the incredulousness of the court, Sir Leemond closed his eyes and began to pray or speak lowly in the voice of the celestials, she voice that caqme from him was not his own and was reported to say in the deep voice of the gods themselves "You shall heed this servant of the gods and not take his words lightly lest your Kingdom and this world fall to ruin under the feet of the ancient enemies."

After this, the court was shook but it was declared that Sir Leemond would elad the charge to undo the primordial cult and the evils surrounding it. Queen Nevierre proclemated that all shall follow the orders of Sir Leemond, his word second to none in commanding her forces and the religious leaders of the West.

Sir Leemond became Saint Leemond, the first to earn such title in recorded history.

Under his tactics and the guidance of the gods through him, Saint Leemond began to undo the Cult of the Primordials.

Unfortunately, before the end, Saint Leemond was seduced by the witch Gladyssia, a beautiful woman who was fully in the depths of her servitude to the Primordials.

Saint Leemond then became Oathbreaker Leemond and a dark knight in the forces of evil, destroyed by his own sister who would eventually be titled Madamme Dezelle.

In the end the followers of the primordials were mostly destroyed or made to flee, their plot to free the ancient evils from their prison undone.

In 1002 GHR

Veneese Tharjarian, daughter of Oathbreaker Leemond,

after spending her days trying to make up for her father's weakness and

evil proved blessed and pure, becoming the first Mother Superior of the

Golden Order of Astron.

Under her time as Mother Superior, the Order rooted out evil and, some

say, imagined evils as well. In the end, it was a reign of religious fervor in

the West thart saw the fall of many evil cults, the halting of demons into

the Kingdom, but also saw the intolerance and mistreatment of the

Circle of the Green and other druidic orders as well as a deemphasis on

the other "minor" gods (according to the Order) though a revival of all the

gods and the importance of the druidic orders was reiterated before the

end of the century.

Suring this same era in 1098 GHR, the Pirate Wars broke  out off the

coasts of Gillius. The Queen sent naval forces to confront the pirates,

lead by the sea savvy Captain Storm Eye, who had one good bright blue

eye, her other eye covered by a silver eye patch.

The p[irates confounded the naval officers and led them into storms that

cropped up with supernatural surprise.

The Naval Captain Kelgor Florentine, alonge with his best officer and

daughter Grace Florentine came to the conclusion that some magic was

afoot and rooted out a sea hag who was helping the pirates. The hag, ever ready to change sides to save her life, reversed her storm magic giving the Queen's Navy the upper hand in the conflict.

Grace, herself, confronted Captain Storm Eye as she attempted to raise an ancient kracken, defeating her before she could do so and bringing her to justice where she would face the noose for her piracy and treachery against the Crown.

The Florentine family earned land and nobility, later marrying into the Royal family and further members of the family taking the Florentine name (though many say this was a political move because of how much more favorable the Florentine name had become than the Silverthorns).

saw the frost giant jarl, Gurmandraugr, declare war on the

Northmen and the northern Queenslanders.

The frost blooded goliath clans of the North in Queensland joined this

war, having a hatgeful relationship with the frost giants for several

millenia.

The overconfident and arrogant giants were routed further North,

forced to flee to the Crown of the World where they would remain for

centuries.

Queen Naomi Florentine places the Northern treaty into place, giving

the people of the North, including the barbaric clans of the Northmen

more protection and freedoms even giving the Northmen Kings searts

in her court, though they rarely appeared to the frustration of other

nobles who hoped to make inroads with the clans.

The Cold Wall, a large fortification and wall was built in the North to

help guard against incursions from the frost giants and other dangerous

creatures from the Crown of the World.

By 1250 GHR, the Cold Wall had been attacked repeatedly by recovering

frost giant clans who also used yetis to join in the attacks.

During the end of 1250 GHR, an illness spread throughout the world,

covering all of Garn in an illness that left the victims with vertigo and a

strange depression. Though not the worse of diseases, the worldwide nature of the illness, and the fact that it hit every species from humans to elves and dwarves, even presumably the "monstrous" peoples gave concern to the world's leaders who caqme together to find a cure for this disease even as it faded and seemed to leave on its own.

1168 GHR

Anchor 16

the skies over the world darkened and many of Garn's

people claim to have seen "the stars fall" with numbers ranging from

four to ten stars falling from the skies.

There is some speculation that the venerable Queen Naomi Florentine

alone with other world leaders knew exactly how many of the "stars" fell

and a hint of their true nature, keeping this secret for centuries for

reasons unknown at the time but more suspected as history continues

on.

In 1300 GHR the Lost Isles reappear with erupting volcanoes on the main

island's surface now, destroying a nearby cargo ship passing through the

area and causing the new Queen Vinelle Florentine to expand the area of

caution around the area of the Lost Isles to prevent such tragedies from

occurring again.

During this time, the Queen's main magic advisor, Korellian the Wise

disappeared and some claim he was spotted flying to the Isles. Whether

he had the Queen's blessing or not, it is suspected that ther wizard

disappeared along with the Isles a few days later.

Once the stars fell, the skies cleared and the incident was relatively

harmless to the peoples of Garn.

In 1294 GHR

Anchor 17

the Lost Isles reappeared and a makeshift raft was

discovered fleeing the main island.

As no volcanic activity arrived with this appearance of the isles, the

Queen of the era, Queen Aveera Florentine allowed a ship to pick the

raft up, apparently saving a lone girl that the peoples at the time called

a "kind of savage girl".

Her name was Kamara and she was the descendant of Queenslanders

who had explored the Lost Isles ages before, surviving in a world they

had come to call Pangea.

Having no other reference, Kamara could not say if this was truly just

the past of Garn or another world, entirely, which cleared up very little

mystery to the nature of the Lost Isles or what makes them disappear

and reappear near Queensland.

A cautious investigation of the Isles by magic users with the ability to

teleport away hopefully before being caught up in the unpredictable

nature of the Isles was under way.

This was the most successful exploration of the islands to date with

some sample plants and even an egg from a dinosaur brought back with

the explorers before the Isles were gone again.

It was confirmed by scholars that the plants and the dinosaur brought

from the Isles was from an earlier time in Garn's time, perhaps even

prehistory times.

This did little other than to increase the caution surrounding the Isles,

the implications of people possibly changing the past one of the larger concerns of philosophers, advisors, and sages.

In 1332 GHR

arrived so did one of the darkest times in the

Western Kingdom's history.

Queen Aveera Florentine after being assaulted by goblin assassins on

her way back from visiting the Elven Kingdom in Queensland declared

a purging of all "monstrous peoples" in Queensland. This declaration

known as the "Cleansing" was popular with nobles of the land while

questioned by many of the common folk, dividing the peoples of

Western Garn as the Cleansing began, routing the "monsters" of

Queensland out of the lands.

The war resulting from the Cleansing was costly, not only for the

loyalists of the Crown, but also for the "monstrous peoples" as the

bloody aftermath swept across the Kingdom.

Grokaar of the Third Eye, an orc born with a third eye that some orcs

saw as the "Lost eye of Gruumsh" rose as a hero among his people,

leading them to Sargoth which is said to be the homeland of the orcs

and goblins to start with.

Grokaar and his survivors fought off the Knights of the Crown as they

pursued them into Sargoth, itself, hoping to destroy them once and for

all.

In the end, the orcs and goblins, along with others such as minotaurs,

ogres, and the lower ording of giants such as hill giants and verbeeg, all

came to live in Sargoth where most of their populations still dwell to this day, making Sargoth a very dangerous land to the more "civilized" folk of the West.

As 1345 GHR

saw the daughter of Queen Aveera Florentine, Queen

Malloris Florentine attempt to be a very different queen than her

mother, some say too different, as she reversed edicts born from the

Cleansing which she condemned as nothing less than a racial cleansing,

as well as attempting more positive projects such as the newest and,

in the end, most successful exploration and colonization of Sarvania,

bringing about the small but surviving port of Domar and its logging

camp which would expand and become the larger port city that

Sarvania sees today.

During this time, the "Heroes of Gillius" would meet with the Lady

Alyssa Delaqoix, the ruling Lady of Gillius in Cliffhaven.

These heroes were reported to be seeking seven parts of the Rod of Laww

which seemed to mean more to the Queen than the noble Lady of

Gillius.

Unfortunately, this group of heroes disappeared before the Queen

could summon them and would not show up again for quite some

decades later.

Queen Malloris Florentine also strengthened ties with Nazenka even

more closely, going so far as to entering a courtship with the Shi'ar

Ricard Haithu which had mixed reactions from peoples on both sides

of the world ranging from romantic excitement to cautions against how

either or both royalties could be used by one another or, in the eyes of the Queenslanders, worse, by the mysterious genies of the East as some were reportedly and decidedly evil if all being noble.

Sarvania erupted into chaos as the thus far

successful colonization and exploration of the Untamed Land came to

a hault as no ships returned from the continent and no word, magical

or by any form of carrier told of what the state of Domar and the other

encampments were on the continent.

A regiment of paladins from the Golden Order and the Queen's Knights

ventured to Domar but could not reach its port through the appearance

of winged demons guarding the Southern coast.

When regrouping and reporting, the Queen

and the Order sent additional help, the

Order claiming to be instructed by angels,

directly.

With the additional forces and supplies,

the groups formed the Camp of the

Last Dawn, attempting to station forces

to make an inroads to reach Domar and

any other areas of trouble that might

exist in Sarvania.

For several decades this camp

stood, becoming the Fort of

the Last Dawn which it remained as until the

return of the Heroes of Order in 1420 GHR

when they joined forces to defeat the forces of Chaos in the area

and the Chaos Dragon Balathor in the War Against Chaos.

The leader of the Fort, Captain Loreana Stormwell became retook the town of Domar which had fallen to undead and once cleansing the port town, recolonized it, eventually turning the town over to the noble, Denon Montevac, returning to Last Dawn to continue its growth and prosperity.

an ancient evil rose in Nazenka to the East, the Ghul

Queen, Washuna Milakan rose and drew the ifreeti and dao to her to

join her demonic forces as she swept across the Land sof Sand.

Whether the evil leaning genies sided with the Queen or were controlled

through some vile magic remains unknown and a secret that neither

family of genies is willing to reveal. Aside from these groups of genies,

many ghul (an undead form of genie) also made up the Queen's forces,

and more were corrupted to her side as time and the war she brought

drew on.

Nazenka was forced to put a call for help out to the rest of the world and

Queensland was happy to respond having had close relations with the

Land of Sand in the past.

Witht he combined efforts of their allies and the genies remaining on

the side of honor, Nazenkan heroes were able to chain the Ghul Queen.

Not being able to destroy her, the powerful viziers (spellcasters) were

able to chain her in a prison made in the Veil (what Westerners call the

Ethereal). Swearing her vengeance and promising her return to burn

the world of mortals, the Queen went screaming into her prison,

taking most of the ghuls with her, though it is said that some still

remain to plague Nazenka with their evil.

This upheavel did mean the death of the Caliph of the genies, his position being taken by the Marid Bah'Harada, ushering in the Age of Water for the Nazenkan people, her first act of celebration to bring heavy rains even to the dryest areas of Nazenka which hadn;t seen rains in ages.
