The Lost Isles

The Lost Isles is a set of islands that are largely forbidden both

by thopse under rule of the King and even those of the

Orcish lands of Sargoth and the elves of Raenatha.

The reason for these islands being forbidden, beyond being

outright deadly with the host of prehistoric monsters living

on them is also for the unpredictable and strange magic that

encompasses the land.

The Lost Isles are named for the fact that they tend to

disappear from time to time, perhaps reappearing in the far

past as many scholars seem to believe, perhaps being sent

to another plane or world entirely, or perhaps simply

vanishing and ceasing to exist which few believe is the case.

Visiting the islands, therefor, is not only strongly advised

against but is outright forbidden because almost everyone

who has traveled to the islands has disappeared with them,

never to be seen again.

The one exception was Kamara the "Savage Girl" who took a

cobbled together raft from the islands and was picked up by

the queen at the time's naval officers.

Kamara was dressed in skins and carried a bone tipped

spear and hatchet as her only tools. Once the language

barrier was solved, it was determined that she was or

believed herself to be the grandaughter of Garrand and

Tia Goldhart, explorers to the islands that had

disappeared with the Isles two hundred years prior.

Kamara's testimony gave some insight into the nature of the islands which seem ti travel to a                                                                      time or world where all manner of prehistoric animals and peoples exist. A                                                                         dangerous wprld where the Goldharts were lucky to survive, apparently                                                                       making allies with a kind of dinosaur people called the sauriels.

SInce this time, the Lost Isles are prohibited to be explored or traveled                                            to within a few miles of them.

The Isles are still watched through scrying and similar magic, wonders such as                                                                dinosaurs  and even stranger creatures being watched and catalogued by various                                                         sages and scholarly organizations such as the House of Knowledge and the                                                                    Preservationists.
